Back to School...

Coming back to school was always a thrill for me growing up. Seeing all of my friends and classmates again, football right around the corner and the Fall season coming up too. Some of my favorite things all in a short time span. This year is different, because I’m going into my senior year of college, meaning I’ll be moving forward with my professional career after this school year. It kind of leaves a bitter taste in my mouth just thinking about it because I am definitely excited about pursuing my dream career, but I know I’ll forever miss the memories and friends I made at ONU.

Joining a fraternity, the powerlifting club, playing intramural sports and partaking fun events across campus are some of my favorite memories. While I may be headed out the door, I know there are plenty of freshman who will be coming in. That being said, if I had to give them advice it would be this. First off and most importantly, don’t hesitate to meet friends. One of the best parts about the college experience is the people you meet along the way. Also, GET INVOLVED on campus. Join a club, go Greek, play a sport, etc. Make sure you do something though. Next would be to take your academics seriously. ONU is not a very cheap college so make the most of your time here. (I learned that the hard way.)

When it’s all said and done, I know I’ll be glad I chose ONU. The memories and people I met will always be held very close to my heart. Cheers to a new school year, and one final hoorah.

  1. I have to agree that coming back to ONU after the summer is very refreshing. Seeing all my friends and getting motivated to put forth my best academic effort is something I hope goes swimmingly in my last two semesters here. Hope all your extracurriculars go well, it sounds like you found your niche very well!
