Semester Highlights

Image
To conclude this semester, I just wanted to reflect on and share some of my favorite moments from the first half of the school year. I hope everyone had a great semester and I wish everyone the best of luck with school in the Spring! Starting things off, the first weekend back to school. Coming back to school is always a refreshing feeling. Seeing all of the friends you hadn’t seen in months is one of the most rejuvenating feelings ever. My first weekend back on campus consisted of rekindling friendships from the prior school year, playing outdoor games and relaxing. Coming back to school is going to be a nostalgic feeling I’ll miss when I graduate in the Spring, so I’m cherishing these moments now more than ever! Next was attending the Detroit Tigers versus the Seattle Mariners playoff baseball game. This was game 6 of a best of 7 series, and the atmosphere was incredible. Fans were going crazy and it felt so surreal to be in s...

How to Drive Safely During Harsh Winter Conditions

With the weather getting colder and more dangerous to drive in, I’ve put together a few suggestions on how to commute safely from one place to another. Winter driving can turn even the most familiar roads into unpredictable terrain. Snow, ice, slush, and reduced visibility create conditions that demand extra caution, preparation, and patience from every driver. Whether you’re facing the season’s first flurries or navigating a full-blown blizzard, understanding how to adjust your driving habits is essential for staying safe. Coming from a commuter, researching these steps was very beneficial to me and I hope it can be of use to someone else as well. 1. Prepare Your Vehicle Before You Hit the Road Safe winter driving begins long before you start your engine. Make sure your vehicle is winter-ready by checking essential systems: tires, battery, brakes, lights, and wipers. Winter tires provide significantly better tracti...

My Favorite NFL Team: The Miami Dolphins

Image
Since I’ve been a Miami Dolphins fan, it’s been a struggle. We have had 2 or 3 competitive seasons where we were legitimate contenders, but besides that the Dolphins have been bottom of the barrel. This season has been pretty bad too, considering that we lost our star WR Tyreek Hill to a nasty knee injury early in the season and we have a record of 3 wins and 7 losses through 10 weeks in the season. In addition to that we traded one of our best defensive players, Jalen Phillips to the Philadelphia Eagles. On the positive side of things, we just beat the Buffalo Bills, who are our division rivals and have been one of the best teams in the NFL for 5 or 6 years in a row.             I want to talk about the history of the Dolphins franchise next. Few franchises in the NFL carry the history, flair, and resilience of the Miami Dolphins. Founded in 1966, the Dolphins b...

Building Good Study Habits: The Key to Academic Success

Building Good Study Habits: The Key to Academic Success With the end of the semester in sight, I thought it would be important and beneficial for myself and my classmates to learn good study habits and techniques. Success in school isn’t about how many hours you study, it’s about how effectively you use that time. Developing strong study habits helps you retain information, reduce stress, and build confidence in your learning. Here are some proven strategies to strengthen your study routine. Create a dedicated study space. Choose a quiet, organized, and well-lit area that you associate only with learning. Keep distractions away from you, like your phone or TV. Preferably keep them out of reach. A clutter-free environment helps your mind stay focused and signals your brain that it’s time to work. Stick to a consistent schedule. Consistency builds momentum. Set aside specific times each day to study and treat them like appointments you can’t miss. Studying at the same time he...

Why You Should be Excited to Graduate

Graduating college is one of the most exciting and transformative milestones in life. It’s not just about walking across a stage or receiving a diploma—it’s about celebrating years of hard work, late nights, and personal growth. Your graduation marks the moment when you finally get to see the results of your dedication, persistence, and resilience. That sense of accomplishment alone is worth celebrating! Beyond the ceremony, graduating college represents newfound freedom and opportunity. You’ve spent years learning, experimenting, and discovering your passions. Now, you have the chance to put all that knowledge into action in the real world. Whether you’re starting a career, continuing your education, or taking time to explore, this transition opens doors to experiences that can shape your future in exciting ways. It’s also a moment to appreciate how far you’ve come. College challenges you. Not just academically, but emotionally and socially. You’ve learned how t...

Getting Started with the Hardin County Foundation

Getting Started with the Hardin County Foundation             Now that we began to kick it into full gear with Social Media Strategy & Campaign, me and my partner Zach have been communicating directly with the Hardin County Foundation about what work needs to be done for them. I’m very excited to get started because I feel that collectively we will all achieve what we desire. I’m hoping to get a glimpse of what it would be like to work with social media in a professional field or industry, and I think this project will do just that. Diving a little deeper into the Hardin County Foundation, I feel as if our business/foundation stands out amongst the rest. Not taking away from what everyone else is working on, but the Hardin County Foundation has little to no social media presence or impact, so we’re essentially starting from scratch. It will be unique to Zach and me specifically, so I can’t wait to get the ball rolling with t...

Mastering Social Media: 5 Effective Strategies for Success

Mastering Social Media: 5 Effective Strategies for Success In today’s digital world, social media isn't just a place to share vacation photos or memes—it's a powerful marketing tool that can make or break a brand. With billions of users scrolling through platforms like Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and X (formerly Twitter), having a smart, focused social media strategy is essential for standing out. Whether you're a small business owner or a content creator, here are five effective strategies to help you succeed. Know Your Audience Effective social media marketing starts with understanding who you’re trying to reach. Create a detailed audience profile by asking: What platforms do they use? What type of content do they engage with? What problems do they want solved? When you know your audience's preferences, you can craft content that resonates and drives action. Consistency Is Key Posting sporadically won't build a loyal following. Create a content calendar and...
