My Favorite NFL Team: The Miami Dolphins
Since I’ve been a Miami Dolphins
fan, it’s been a struggle. We have had 2 or 3 competitive seasons where we were
legitimate contenders, but besides that the Dolphins have been bottom of the
barrel. This season has been pretty bad too, considering that we lost our star
WR Tyreek Hill to a nasty knee injury early in the season and we have a record of
3 wins and 7 losses through 10 weeks in the season. In addition to that we
traded one of our best defensive players, Jalen Phillips to the Philadelphia
Eagles. On the positive side of things, we just beat the Buffalo Bills, who are
our division rivals and have been one of the best teams in the NFL for 5 or 6
years in a row.
I want to talk about the history of
the Dolphins franchise next. Few franchises in the NFL carry the history,
flair, and resilience of the Miami Dolphins. Founded in 1966, the Dolphins
became a symbol of excellence in the 1970s, most famously completing the NFL’s
only perfect season in 1972 under legendary coach Don Shula. That 17-0 record
remains one of the most iconic achievements in all of professional sports, a
golden standard that still defines the franchise’s legacy.
Fast forward to today, and the
Dolphins remain somewhat competitive even with the unfortunate season so far
this year. Led by head coach Mike McDaniel, the Dolphins have built one of the
league’s most explosive offenses. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, when healthy, has
proven to be a precise passer capable of leading a dynamic attack. His
chemistry with wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle creates constant
headaches for opposing defenses. Hill’s record-breaking speed and Waddle’s
slippery route-running make Miami’s passing game one of the most thrilling
spectacles in football.
But it’s not just about flash, the
Dolphins have also been building strength in the trenches. Their offensive line
continues to develop, and the defense, anchored by stars like Bradley Chubb,
brings physicality and confidence to the field. The result? A well-balanced
team that can compete with anyone on any given Sunday.
Although the Dolphins are having a
down year, I’ll always stand beside my team. I’m very passionate about football
and the team I root for and that will never change. As a Cowboys fan would say,
next year is our year!
Down years as a fan always suck. Being a Denver fan the over the past few years has been rough but we have had a great year so far. Maybe the Dolphins are next!
