Semester Highlights
To conclude this semester, I just wanted to reflect on and share some of my favorite moments from the first half of the school year. I hope everyone had a great semester and I wish everyone the best of luck with school in the Spring!
Starting things off, the first
weekend back to school. Coming back to school is always a refreshing feeling.
Seeing all of the friends you hadn’t seen in months is one of the most
rejuvenating feelings ever. My first weekend back on campus consisted of
rekindling friendships from the prior school year, playing outdoor games and relaxing.
Coming back to school is going to be a nostalgic feeling I’ll miss when I
graduate in the Spring, so I’m cherishing these moments now more than ever!
Next was attending the Detroit
Tigers versus the Seattle Mariners playoff baseball game. This was game 6 of a
best of 7 series, and the atmosphere was incredible. Fans were going crazy and
it felt so surreal to be in such a tense and enjoyable environment. I had been
to previous Tigers games, but nothing compares to this one. Thankfully the
Tigers won and sent it to game 7, but unfortunately fell short in an extra
inning game. Game 7 was one of the best baseball games I’ve ever watched, but I
had to watch it virtually. (There was no way I was buying tickets and flying to
Seattle)
The next key highlight of my
semester was getting a dog. Although it technically isn’t mine, it is my
roommates and I help take care of him. His name is Theodore (Theo), and he is a
poodle shiatzu mix breed. He is the cutest thing ever but still struggles being
potty trained. I’ve cleaned up countless messes, but the joy he brings the
household makes up for it. Theo loves playing with toys, biting shoes and socks
and going to the bathroom on my rug in my bedroom. Managing a dog can be kind
of tedious at times and takes away a lot of my time doing schoolwork, but it is
something worth sacrificing in my opinion. This was probably the best part of
the semester!
While the semester comes to a rapid
ending, I am forever thankful for the people I had the chance to meet, and the
friends I had the opportunity to catch up with. Lastly, I am thankful for this
class and the people within it too. I hope everyone can reflect on their
semester and enjoy it as much as I did!
I'm for sure going to miss hanging out with everyone from class. You along with everyone helped ease the pressure of college as a whole.
